The Supreme Court might rule that police dog sniffs are anti-Constitutional ("Will Privacy Go to the Dogs?", by Jeffery A. Meyer, October 16th 2012, www.nytimes.com). True. Based on the fact that these practices are against people's privacy rights (Fourth Amendment of the Constitution), a couple of cases are going to be judged this coming Halloween day.
In an era in which privacy is almost extinct because of technology and people's need to be constantly connected and exposed, I find it ironic that the Supreme Court will focus on this matter. It seems that the constant intrusion and liberal use of our information by tons of irresponsible companies and web-based phenomenons is perfectly OK, but when it comes to a dog sniffing somebody's pocket, there is a cry for our rights and the Constitution is used four times in one sentence... What a hypocrisy.
